Witness to impact and resilience.

Following the October 7 conflict, in April 2024 Israel faced an unprecedented wave of ballistic-missile and drone attacks from Iran.
Most missiles and drones were shot down by Israel’s air defenses, with support from the U.S. and allied partners.
In this attack there were some damages, but no direct hits or casualties.
It happened again in October 2024.

In June 2025, Israel launched operation “Rising Lion” (עם כלביא).
This time, Israel was mostly alone, with defense support mainly from the USA.

The interception rate was high, but still some missiles made it through.
This was devastating.
Ballistic missiles targeted civilian areas with 300–700 kg explosive heads.

Twelve days of air-raid sirens, explosions, and uncertainty were felt in every street, every home, and in the heart of every person.

These images were captured in Tel-Aviv and Ramat-Gan, documenting the aftermath of direct hits.
Some missiles carried up to 700 kg of explosives, others had even more destructive payloads.

The sound of the anti-missile system launching, each boom echoing the same terrifying question:
Was it an interception, or a direct hit?
The shelter doesn’t guarantee safety.
The reinforced room might not be enough.
And so every moment becomes a quiet prayer that the next alarm is false, or that the next missile is stopped in the sky.

You run down to the shelter with family, strangers, neighbors, friends: some too afraid to speak, others trying to be brave.
Someone leaves the door open.
Someone steps outside to film it.
And in the middle of it all, you wait.

Even leaving the house feels like a risk.
Walking the dog, going to the store, visiting family, you wonder: what if it happens now?
Where is the closest shelter?
Will I make it in time?

And then comes the aftermath.
Twisted buildings, shattered windows, collapsed facades.
This is what a direct hit looks like.
And in these moments, you realize how much worse it could be if Israel wasn’t defending itself.
In memoriam of those who lost their lives.
