Grey Heron
The grey heron flying over the canal in Amsterdam.
I was lucky enough to capture this amazing moment of a grey heron soaring over one of the beautiful canals in Amsterdam.
It was early in the morning, just after the sun had risen, and the air was crisp and clear.
The canal was calm and still, creating a perfect mirror for the heron's graceful flight.
I decided to use black & white for these photos, because I wanted to emphasize the contrast and drama of the scene.
The heron's wings are spread wide in the first photo, showing its elegance and power.
The second photo shows its reflection on the water, creating a symmetrical composition.
I didn't do much editing on these photos, except for brightening the background a bit to make it white and converting them to black & white.
I think they look better this way, don't you?
